Our Purpose

The Stevenson-Carson Educational Foundation's mission is to support the education, opportunities, and enrichment of students in the Stevenson-Carson School District.

Located in the heart of Washington’s Columbia River Gorge, the Stevenson-Carson School District is comprised of several small communities proudly built on the timber, fishing, and transportation industries. As our traditional economic base has changed over the years, our schools have lost much of the funding that provided vital opportunities to prepare our youth for the future.

To keep our community strong and growing, we need to provide opportunities for our youth that do not fit within the annual budget of the school district.

The SCEF partners with individuals, businesses, and corporations to fundraise, acquire grant funding, and facilitate charitable giving in support of our school district. Our board is made up of community members, local business owners, parents, and school staff who are committed to supporting our local schools.

Our work begins with our children. It starts with students.

Help our community and partners invest in students through individual and business donations and grant opportunities.  Our primary work is to fund teaching tools, curriculum and educational programs that help students become thriving adults in our community and their home.

Facilitate scholarship opportunities for SHS students, including administration of partner scholarship programs and our own.

Find ways to help students focus on learning and personal growth by supporting them through difficult times they may be facing at school or home, giving them mental tools they need to cope with stresses that can effect emotional well being.

4

Support students and families as they take care of life needs through our Locker program.  By assisting with important items including food security, hygiene and school supplies they can arrive at school healthy and prepared to learn.
